Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a storefront?

No, I do not.  Batter For It is a home-based custom cookie studio located in Ocean Pines, Maryland. Everything I do is custom made to order. Batter For It is not open to the public.

How far in advance should I place my order?

Simply put, the earlier the better.  I book up to 3 months in advance (but do not take orders further out than out than 3 months).  Once you submit payment, your order is reserved  I am a one woman show, and have a very limited volume of cookies that can be baked, decorated and delivered per week. I advise you to reach out as soon as you know your event date. All that being said, if you contact me with very little notice, even just a few days, if I have availability I will fill your order.

Do you make cakes & cupcakes?

Thanks for asking! I exclusively make custom decorated sugar cookies, cookie D-I-Y kits, and gingerbread houses (Sept-Dec).

Can you duplicate cookies from another baker?

While I don't make exact replicas of cookies from other bakers, I will use the pictures you send as inspiration to create your cookies with my own artistic style. Every order will require some creative freedom on my part.

How much are your cookies?

It all depends on the complexity of your design. Custom cookies start at $70 per dozen and increase from there depending upon complexity of design, number of colors, etc. Logo cookies start at $60 per dozen and may increase depend on number of colors and size / shape of logo. Please reach out for a custom quote making sure to be as specific as possible with your theme, colors, designs, etc. Inspiration pics are always helpful. You may also fill out this form for a faster reply: https://form.jotform.com/batterforit/inquiry-form. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Do you ship your cookies?

Unfortunately, no. Cookies are fragile and I don't want you to end up with a box of crumbs.

Yay! I've ordered. Now how do I get my cookies?

Thank you so much for your order! I know life is busy so I offer three flexible options for getting your cookies.

Option 1. Delivery: Let me deliver to you. It's free if you're in zip code 21811. Delivery fees apply outside of zip 21811.

Delivery days and times are based upon my availability. An adult must be at delivery location to accept cookies.

Cookies will not be left on doorstep.

Option 2.  Pick up at set time: Pick up your order in Ocean Pines at a SET date & time (no windows of time).

You won't even have to get out of your car! Once pick up time is set, I'll be ready and waiting outside for you with your cookies.

Your punctuality is extremely important since maintaining a timely schedule is crucial for my home based business.

Option 3. Pick up during a window of time: You pick up your order in Ocean Pines within a 20 minute window of time (example: between 1:00-1:20). Your order will be waiting for you in my secure, enclosed outdoor cookie hut. If you choose

this option it is extremely important that you arrive during the set window of time as cookies will not be left in hut for longer

than 20 minutes. This option is not available during the summer months.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit cards, PayPal and Venmo. Payment must be made at time of order. Checks are not accepted.

I'm interested in ordering cookies but I'd like to see some idea sketches before I commit.

While I'd love to share my ideas, I reserve brainstorming for confirmed (paid) orders only. Once you book with me, I'll be happy to collaborate on creative concepts tailored to your specific event.

Do you send progress photos?

No, I do not send progress photos. Once your order is placed and we've decided on the designs, you can trust that I will work hard  to make your vision come to life in cookie form. I will not be sending any progress photos.

Are the cookies individually wrapped?

Yes! Each cookie is individually heat sealed in its own cello bag. This keeps the cookies fresh and protects the decorative work. Cookies are carefully arranged in a bakery box and tied with a bow.

How long will the cookies stay fresh? Can they be frozen?

Cookies will stay fresh in their heat sealed package for up to 14 days. Decorative cookies freeze beautifully. All orders will receive  instructions with details on how to freeze cookies.

Do I need in order in dozen increments?

There is a one dozen minimum order. Once the one dozen minimum is met you may order in half dozen increments.

Do you make gluten-free cookies?

I do not offer gluten-free cookies

Are your cookies nut-free?

While my cookies don't have nuts in the recipe, I often use nuts in other recipes which share the same bowls, utensils, pans, etc.  My kitchen is not allergy free and I unfortunately, I can't accommodate allergy-conscious orders.

Are you teaching any in-person classes?

Thanks so much for asking! I'm not offering live classes at this time - my schedule is pretty packed with other projects right now.

I really appreciate your interest though, and if I decide to open up any spots in the future, I'll be sure to post an announcement!
